The End of You: an immersive multimedia exhibition

Creative Director & Lead Designer | Kelly Skye
Design & Concept Development | Andres Pacheco

The End of You was an immersive group exhibition in downtown San Francisco. This pop-up show ran for three months and explored the boundaries of individuality and the complex dynamics of living systems. The show attracted thousands of visitors and was covered by various media outlets as “a rising form” of environmental advocacy which broke traditional boundaries (from: WIRED Magazine).

As a lead artist, I worked with my long-time creative collaborator Andres Pacheco to develop an immersive exhibit about the Rights of Nature movement, which questions traditional notions of “personhood” and is currently fighting to extend fundamental legal rights to living entities such as rivers and mountains.

The Rights of Nature - seeing into a growing movement

The Room of Relations explored the rights of nature movement through layered projections, audio, and printed press. This space immersed viewers in a growing and important global movement.

“The show was the culmination of a year-long collaboration between Gray Area and Gaian Systems, with support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, to explore the potential of immersive art for social impact through the Experiential Space Research Lab.”
